| Q1: |
While fine-grain Tungsten Carbide
parts are used in wire electric discharge machining,
chipping is occurred frequently. |
| A: |
Please try our A10W grade
for resist EDM. It keeps the performance of fine grain
grade KD20, the heat crack-resistant at the time of
electric discharge machining is improved as well.
|
 |
| Q2: |
Although Tungsten Carbide parts are
used for press processing of stainless steel material,
their wear-resistance is inferior to that of SPCC
material. |
| A: |
Stainless steel material is hard and tough,
so wear and chipping arise early. We recommend you
to use our KD grade which has excellent toughness
and wear-resistance.
|
 |
| Q3: |
Although we want to use a tap to fix
Tungsten Carbide parts, there is no space to be brazed,
and joint intensity is required, too. |
| A: |
We recommend you a direct tap machining.
Before sintering, contraction is estimated and tap
machining is performed. Our direct tap machining makes
them stronger than electric discharge tapping and
brazing.
|
 |
| Q4: |
The wear of Die and Punch arise early in
high speed press. We want to extend the life one cycle
more. |
| A: |
We recommend you a lapping of cutting edge.
By making the surface smooth, sliding friction is
reduced and wear-resistance is improved. We guarantee
the surface roughness less than 0.3S keeping the size
accuracy by grinding on grinding stone even if it
has variant shape.
|
 |
| Q5: |
Can we fix Tungsten Carbide parts
with magnetic chuck while machining? |
| A: |
Though Tungsten Carbide is a magnetic
body, magnet fixation is dangerous because of its
weakness of the magnetism. Please fix it with vise,
bond adhesion or some tool. |
 |
| Q6: |
We want use Tungsten Carbide for hot
working. |
| A: |
Tungsten Carbide, generally, does
not have hardness change at the temperature under
600 ℃. However, degradation of its quality is caused
under long-term high temperature. We recommend you
our corrosion-resistant KN grade for small load rolling.
|
 |
| Q7: |
The life of Tungsten Carbide parts
is extremely short at the time of machining of pure
iron, pure copper and nickel, etc. |
| A: |
It is caused by the affinity with
the cobalt contained in the Tungsten Carbide. We have
developed MC grade which has low affinity with the
work materials. It has received favorable remarks
from many customers.
|
 |
| Q8: |
Which Tungsten Carbide grade has the
most excellent wear-resistance? |
| A: |
We have SS grade for abrasive wear-resistance.
SS13's hardness is HV2200 and SS15's is HV2450. However,
since their toughness is very low, we recommend you
small load use.
|
 |
| Q9: |
We wish short time for delivery. |
| A: |
We stock each grade of Tungsten Carbide
in various sizes of block. We also have stocks which
have already ground two-face, four-face and six face
so that they can be immediately used by cutting. We
are always ready for sintering law material as well.
|
 |
| Q10: |
We heard that micro-grain Tungsten
Carbide needs a long delivery time. |
| A: |
It is not true with us. Our
delivery time is the same with other grade by our
constant manufacturing of micro-grain grade EF20.
|
 |
| Q11: |
Although we want to use Tungsten Carbide
instead of die steel, high speed tool steel or sintered
metal high speed steel, we are afraid of high cost.
|
| A: |
We, basically, estimate the price
of Tungsten Carbide by weight. As finished parts are
usually not so heavy, most of the price elements arise
by their machining, such as EDM, lapping and polishing
etc. Therefore, there is no big difference in the
price. We could see that Tungsten Carbide's machining
is easier than that of steel because thin steel parts
bend easily during its machining. |
 |
| Q12: |
How can we storage Tungsten Carbide
parts? |
| A: |
Tungsten Carbide may
be corroded with grinding liquid and lubricant under
machining and with humidity as well. If a polished
side and a lapped side have a bad storage state, Tungsten
Carbide is corroded in a few days and its strength
is decreased. Please protect it with rust prevention
oil or rust prevention paper.
